Sales Manager

Troy, MI
Full Time
Experienced
Signal-Wise Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on Sales Manager to drive commercialization of DeepScan™, our AI-powered acoustic inspection platform, initially focused on automotive manufacturing. DeepScan adds a new acoustic perception capability to manufacturing quality inspection, complementing machine vision and conventional sensing technologies.
The ideal candidate combines manufacturing process knowledge, quality inspection expertise, and consultative technical sales experience. We are particularly interested in candidates who have sold inspection equipment, machine-vision systems, industrial sensors, test systems, or factory automation solutions to automotive OEMs and Tier suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new business with automotive OEMs, Tier suppliers, and other advanced manufacturers; build relationships and generate revenue.
  • Identify high-value manufacturing and quality-inspection problems where DeepScan can deliver measurable technical and economic value.
  • Lead customer discovery, plant visits, technical presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, proposals, and commercial discussions.
  • Convert technical evaluations and pilots into production deployments, then expand successful applications across lines, plants, and customer organizations.
  • Build and manage a disciplined sales pipeline; develop account strategies, negotiate commercial terms, and close business.
  • Work closely with application engineering and R&D to translate customer requirements into practical solutions and communicate market feedback to the product team.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of technical sales or business-development experience in manufacturing inspection, machine vision, industrial testing, sensors, factory automation, or related technologies.
  • Strong familiarity with automotive manufacturing, assembly processes, production-line environments, and industrial buying processes.
  • Practical understanding of quality inspection, including defect detection, process verification, in-line/end-of-line testing, and production quality controls.
  • Ability to engage effectively with manufacturing and quality engineers, plant operations, automation teams, technical management, and purchasing stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new accounts and convert technical evaluations or pilots into commercial business. Existing automotive OEM/Tier relationships are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and consultative-selling skills; willingness to travel 40–60%.
Compensation
Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission, medical insurance, and travel reimbursement.
Why Join Signal-Wise?
AI is rapidly reshaping manufacturing and industrial quality inspection. Signal-Wise is pioneering acoustic intelligence for manufacturing and Physical AI, giving intelligent systems a new way to detect and understand physical events that may be difficult for cameras and conventional sensors to capture.
This is not a traditional equipment-sales role. You will help introduce an emerging AI-perception technology to leading manufacturers, work directly on real production problems, and play a meaningful role in shaping Signal-Wise’s commercial growth. As the company scales, strong performers will have opportunities to take on broader sales and business leadership responsibilities.
